My joke was “The optimists sees the glass as half full and the pessimists as half empty. Engineers see the glass as twice as big as it needs to be”

It is just saying that the optimist and the pessimist are both making statements about the liquid in the glass and the statements reflect their personality. The engineer’s personality doesn’t care about whether it is half empty or full, they just comment that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be to hold that amount of water.

Not a very funny joke. I probably enjoy it more than most people as I know a fair few engineers…. I am not very good at jokes!
