• Question: if the sun was to explode and die, how seconds?minutes would humans live for after, if any?

      It won’t explode and die, because it is not massive enough to explode as a core-collapse supernova and it does not have a close binary companion to induce a type I supernova. It will evolve into a red giant, which will thoroughly sterilise the Earth because it will be thousands of times brighter than the Sun is now, and then fade and die as a white dwarf.

      However, supposing it were possible, which it isn’t, you would know nothing for 8 minutes 20 seconds, because that’s how long light takes to reach the Earth from the Sun. If the Sun really did explode, you would die shortly after that, because the blast wave of superheated gas would probably vapourise the planet, and certainly destroy the atmosphere. Game over.
