Probably not, because I don’t see the benefit.
I’m sure it will be possible though if one wishes it…

Are you thinking of the balloon house in Up! That would be cool. I want to go to paradise falls too.

Why would you want your house to hover? I guess we could have a hovering city in the clouds that people can live on – that might help us solve some of the problems of increased population and give us more space. It would take a lot more than 5 years to get there though!

We might have hovering cars a little sooner – but maybe 5 years is pushing it. Although apparently Lexus has just created a hoverboard (like a skateboard) so maybe it’s not that far in the distant future after all!

No, though the UAE were intending to have a floating City by then. As in floating around of the ocean, tied down by monster anchors. Oil money makes you dream a little too big I think.

While floating is probably out of reach in 5years I bet there will be a steady increase in flats, we’re reaching the point population wise where we need to go “up” not “out”. Japan is currently doing it with farmland, we need to start redoing it in much greater numbers with flats and city architecture as a whole.

Actually thats probably way more than 5yrs away, maybe 30.
