It is already possible to have a brain implant. We have implants that talk to the nerves already – such as a cochlear ear implant to help deaf people to hear, and scientists are working on a sight implant to help blind people to see. There are brain implants to help treat things like parkinsons disease and clinical depression, and they are working on things for other illnesses too. But I reckon we will fairly soon have smartphone attachments for our brains too!

An electronic brain is harder to imagine – our organic brains are really so very complicated with lots of different sections that all do different jobs, and they have so many connections between those sections. It’s just waaaaaay to complicated to try to replicate! It might happen in the future though.
