Some bits are harder than others. Theoretical physics requires a very high level of mathematical skill, which is too hard for most people (including me!). Some branches of experimental work, especially in biology, require a very high level of physical dexterity: for anyone who’s naturally clumsy, they are very hard indeed!
Most science is fairly hard, in the sense that you have to get good exam grades and a good degree in order to acquire the necessary knowledge and skill. But once you have that knowledge and skill, sometimes things just go right, and you suddenly find that everything is coming out really easily. That’s a great feeling while it lasts – which usually isn’t all that long!
