Firstly I can be pretty sure that video games have not been popular for long enough that anyone has any believable data that answers your question.
If I had to hypothesise, I would say no. If you play lots of video games, you are likely to get less exercise, have a worse diet and have poor posture. For these reasons I’d image you would be more prone to heart conditions and various other illnesses.
Having said that I do believe that video games exercises the strategic parts of your brain making many people more intelligent. You just have to use that strategic intelligence to learn something real!
