All about the orbit round the sun.

So as you know, we orbit the sun and it takes us a year to get round. During that year we (in the northern hemisphere, also happens to the southern just in reverse, and those near the equator don’t really have them as much) experience Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Now this is caused by the tilt in Earths axis, we sit at 23.5 off normal, our summer is when this tilt causes the northern hemisphere to “point” towards the sun, and our winter is when we “point” away. Hence its the opposite for the southern hemisphere.

Spring and summer are the in between transition periods between these two peaks.
