I never expected to work in the field of hearing research (working with deaf people). I did a lot of work using brain imaging to answer different complicated questions, and I read about the hearing research group online. I arranged a meeting to talk to the head of the group and I talked to him about the things I knew I could do and we discussed how I could use those techniques to answer some of the questions that he wants answering. Then he offered me a job and I agreed to come and work here! It was just luck really!
