      Depends on the power/intensity.
      There are “eye-safe” lasers which claim not to be dangerous to the eyes, but they are still bright and staring down them for any length of time can be incredibly damaging. These are generally class 1 lasers.

      Class 2 lasers and above are not eye-safe, and require special goggles to filter the laser light away from your eyes.

      By class 4 they can burn skin, and cause irreparable eye damage even from the scattered light.

      Always wear your goggles kids!
