http://webmineral.com/determin.shtml#.VYhJQkagSDl is a detailed database of minerals. Colour is one of the things you can look at.
http://geology.about.com/od/mineral_ident/ss/beginminident.htm#step-heading also seems to contain good information, but the screen is completely cluttered with adverts. http://www.mineralogy4kids.org/mineral-identification is a site you work through with your specimen in hand, answering questions to narrow down your choices.
